Hey guys, got a downloader that will work for Macs as it uses php, not java (flash) to download.
It's a web based app, you don't need to download it so it's completely safe.
You can use it to browse, watch, and download the videos you are watching.

When you select a video simply click download below it and select one of the Mp4 options.
It's already formatted for viewing on any mac as well as iPhone and iPad as well as iPod.

You do know that you can download YouTube videos natively on a Mac using the activity window?

yeah, just load the youtube page to the highest quality version, open activity window in safari, find the large file, CMD C, CMD V into downloads.

p.s. i like your crocoduck 🙂

Yes but typically only the low resolution version such as .flv
^didn't know it worked if you loaded hi-res separately.
Guess this acts more of a one stop shop.
I initially used it for my phone and tablet but my friend uses it on his Air so I figured I'd share.

I just double click the large file name. Downloads automatically.

And yes, crocoducks are my favorite of all animals.

Yeah I changed my post.
Either way would work. Saves you a few seconds but to each their own.
Like I said I dont have one but my friend uses it on his Macbook so I figured I'd share.
Php downloaders are quite rare as most function with flash.

Much easier just to grab iTube or Tube HD (mac apps)

I prefer to use Tube HD or iTube when I watch YouTube. With the resizable screen that I can push out of the way i can still work on other projects while watching videos.

Something that I use for all sorts of purposes is JDownloader -- copy a YouTube address to your clipboard, and a list of download options will get automatically listed in JDownloader -- whatever resolutions or files types (flv, mp4, mp3) available to choose from. Then just open the video/audio from your downloads folder. It works great for when I want to add a YouTube music video to iTunes.

Personally I think a safari extension is the best. There are a couple of good ones. It gives you the option to download which resolution/format you want and is located just below the video itself.

But if you are like me and don't use flash anymore, I dont think they work with HTML5

Also found this extension to be a blessing

I can't stand all the adverts etc
More importantly it removes the comments section. 10-15 years ago, I never really noticed how many people have useless lives.
