Mac Email Fonts

When I highlight a message I have drafted and press Command+T and then select a new font the font of the drafted message does not change. Do I need to reinstall the email programme of have I not understood correctly how to change fonts.

Are you selecting the body contents of the message before attempting to change the font?

Does it not work if you try different fonts? Do you get an error message or anything like that?

Nothing happens, nothing changes when selecting a new font. I highlight the text, select a new font and nothing happens.

You have a drafted message being reopened, if I read this correctly. Did you do File, Open Message on the message in Drafts before you selected the text, did the Command+T , and select the new font?
