No one will be providing technical support on that used emac either...so throw that out in the reasoning...

You can buy used macs from resellers and sometimes they will offer some support for a certain number of days...depends on the shop, but you can buy them used at shops. I have a purple iMac CRT that I would be willing to sell. Have a copy of Jaguar 10.2.8 too you can put on it.

400 MHZ imac with 40 gig drive running Panther? That is a very useable machine. My mom's 350 MHZ imac is running panther and is used heavily. It works great, will take up less space, won't have spyware hassles (it's unbelievable the junk you'll find on a windows pc), will look nice, won't be needing much service, etc, etc, etc. Oh, and its a mac. Piece of advice: make sure the seller is sending the original cds. I would suggest a fresh install of the os just for peace of mind.
