Don't forget that you can use the free and open source program Bitpim to connect your Mac (or PC) to almost any LG phone. I use it with my 8550 Chocolate 2 to place new wallpapers and ringtones onto the phone.

Well, I appreciate the works of these people, even though the GUI is quite clumsy. However, this hack is only necessary because Verizon disables the features of the phone and LG does not provide any support for its phone. When I looked through LG's website, it did not even try to answer questions I had as a customer. Even if the answer is "that is not a supported feature", it is better than reading through a number of forum posts and reviews found via Google. I spent a good amount of time trying to find out how to simply copy the pictures WE took on OUR phone to OUR computer.

If I have options as a customer, I would not give my money to either of these companies.

How do you do this? You don't use any 3rd party software?

No, I just have my phone paired to my Mac via bluetooth. Here is the window that opens up after it's paired. I can upload/download from this window...

These 3 folders you see are actually the folders that are on my phone that store my stuff. I'm just browsing through them with this window. It works very much like an FTP browser. Also, using my phone, I can send Calendar events to my Mac desktop with the push of a button, and import them into iCal. I can send vCards from my phone to my Mac desktop and import them into Address Book. I can go the other way too, and export calendar events and vCards from my Mac back to my phone using the send button. It's really easy and cool. I used to use third party software to upload ringtones, but now I just use Mac OS's built-in bluetooth pairing to send mp3's to the sounds folder on my phone, then I can send the sound to myself in a text message and save it as a ringtone. I love never having to pay for ringtones, I just make whatever sound or song I want into one. BTW, my brother has an LG VX9900 and it works exactly the same way. I can upload a Snapz Pro video of me using this stuff if you wanna see more.
