Point I was hoping to drive home is that in our gloriously techno-centric society Billions of hours are spent waxing philosophic on the merits of BIGGER, BETTER, FASTER, SMALLER, MORE EFFICIENT and yet we forget that it's the OTHER high production value aspects that put the bread on the table or that win the awards. Stuff like craftsmanship, content, message, meaning and impact. Of course I recognize the value of syncing component advancement but really, too much is made of RESOLUTION and not nearly enough of OTHER production components. Snob value is too great as we are constantly trying to best the Jones's or the RED's in our domain.
To prove my point, I set aside all my pro still camera gear 6 years ago and shot everything I do on a point and shoot camera. There's no reason why absolutely award winning work can't be shot with a canon HV20/HV30 level of camera as well. Http://www.gearninja.com
