Mac HD Icon doesn't show free space

Recently my HD icon on my desktop doesn't show free space anymore. Only the total amount of space. How can I fix this? I've tried rebooting and relaunching finder, but nothing works.

Click onto the Desktop and then hit Command-J (or View Menu>Show View Options) and click "Show Item Info". Does that fix it?

Nope.

try this on for SIZE

right click desktop. change text size to something a bit smaller. could be that it is just displaying what it can in the allotted space. let me know if that works.

Nope unfortunately that didn't work either. 🙁 Here's a pic of what it looks like.
