I got .Mac ver. 4.0 the other day and i signed up for the 2 month free trial of .Mac before entering the activation code for my .Mac acct.

Question: is there a way to stop the free trial of .Mac so i can fully use Backup app.??

its only allowing 100MB backup per day during free trial .. i wanna do a full backup(file size is: 3.6GB) to ext. drive..

If I remember correctly, there is an option to "sign up" or "buy" or something like that at a sign-on web page. You may have to log out, and then try to log back on to have it pop up. Once there, opt to buy the subscription and it will ask for your activation code.

check out the account page link on mac.com, if you got the retail box from a store, theres a code in there you enter in an appropriate box somewhere there

theres no-way to cancel the free trial if i call apple?

I don't wanna wait 2 months to start backing up my home folder etc

I did a similar thing to you, and as soon as I entered a code I was upgraded to full status. I didn't need to wait for the trial period to pass. You shouldn't either.

Maybe make sure that your .Mac information is correct in System Preferences. I know there's a "Buy Now" button in there and what not, so it might have something to do with settings in there.
