I like riding my motorbike, it gives me time to think. Last night I was riding to Liverpool in the cold, watching all the fireworks and was thinking about the fact the MBA doesn't have a security slot.

I was thinking, if someone stole your Mac, would they immediately wipe the drive or would they use it as is for a few days, provided it wasn't locked?

I thought what if there was a widget, that could run in the background, sending out a homing signal, so the owner of the machine could track the stolen Mac to an IP address, or an ISP, or maybe even a location? My iPod Touch knows where it is by my broadband, so why couldn't this widget?

I have done some basic programming, a couple of widgets that do long calculations I use at work for me, but not sure where to start on this one, any ideas?
