I just got a new aluminum keyboard for my Mac Pro. Since I started using it I have noticed one peculiar issue. When I use Excel, the arrow keys no longer move from cell to cell. Instead, they shift the whole spreadsheet. It's not a huge deal, but I think I should be able to select cells using the arrow keys.

Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas on a workaround.

Here's what worked for me

I had the same problem. Look at the very bottom of your Excel window. You'll see three little radio boxes: SCRL, CAPS and NUM. Is there a green dot next to SCRL? If so, try hitting Cmd-F14. This should toggle the scroll lock "feature" in Microsoft Excel, and restore the functionality of your arrow keys.

So what should you do if you have a new 2009 model of the Macbook Air? There is no function-14 key available. Is there another work around?

right arrow wasn't working

try going to apple's System preferences, keyboard, shortcuts and un-select ''the way Tab moves focus". Solved my Excel for MAC problem.
