mac keyboard modifications (on non-modifiers)

hi. on my mac wired usb keyboard this morning, the caps key has decided to die.

i've looked into the modifier keys to see what else i could assign, but it's all keys that will screw around with my shortcuts on some software packages, ctrl, alt etc.

i rarely touch the tab key, and seeing as it's directly above caps, that would be the best key for me to assign until i get a new keyboard.

is it possible to somehow make the tab key caps lock?
