For you nice folks is are the Apple Mac Laptops from 2010 to 2012 any good or not, I see a lot on ebay for $300 or less that are used or refurbished, I just can't afford a brand new laptop if I could I would,By the way I do have a iPhone 6s and love it. I good condition 2010-2012 13" MacBook Pro would do you great. Add a SSD and possibly RAM and you got a great Mac.

If possible, avoid the 2010 11"/13" MBAs and 13" MBPs because they use core2duo-Processors. These processors are less efficient in comparison to the newer core i5/7 models. Ok, you could say that about every processor-generation-update, but if you look at the system-wide changes came with the new processors, you'll see, that there are some big steps included:
- the RAM speed: 1333MHz (2011) /1600MHz (2012) instead of 1066MHz (2010). ->Standard today: 1600MHz
- the SATA (HDD/SDD interface) controller speed: 6Gb/s (2011) instead of 3Gb/s (2010) -> Standard today: SATA 6Gb/s

...just my 2 cents

For everyday stuff they still work perfectly fine actually. Combine them with an SSD and upgraded RAM and they're still good performers.

Totally. Whilst I'd love a new MacBook Retina in Gold, i'm still using my white 2010 MacBook. Still superb and used for business constantly for 8+ hours everyday. Battery has been charged 3000+ times and still perfect. Only addition was to add 4GB of Ram as Mavericks totally ruined it. But its worked great with Yosemite and now Ei Capitan.
It's been a great purchase!
