I'm thinking about picking up an old Mac LC III or LC475. With the DB15 to VGA converter, are either of these machines capable of outputting to a basic LCD monitor? I have a much newer PowerMac that handles it perfectly, but what should I prepare for when using either machine with an LCD screen (if that's even possible)? Thanks!

You will have no problem at all. It is convenient, however, to have a configurable DB15 to VGA converter (with switches or turning wheel, they're all pretty efficient), so that you can select a screen resolution that suits your LCD. :apple:

Thanks for the replies. My DB15 adapter arrives tomorrow, so I'll be able to give the LC III a try on a used 17-inch monitor some time tomorrow. Will try to remember to post my findings.

Hi

I have been watching -I have a similar problem - did you get it to work?

Sorry for the late response. It works wonderfully. I used a basic setting for a 17-inch LCD monitor with no problems. If you have any subsequent questions about the process, let me know via PM!

LC475 Screen adaptors etc1

Thanks

My LC 475 and Mac 15" screen is working fine too.... problems getting the right memory but otherwise sorting well!

I got a DB15 adapter a good few years ago, one with lots of dip switches for different settings.
Works great on my macs. Was lost without it. Works on all my LCD's.
