Mac (M1 Mini, 2020) Freezes when playing mp4

When trying to play an mp4 file in Quicktime, my computer will freeze.
I don't think it's memory (see screenshot).

I saw some other people have had this issue in another forum .
I'm currently on Sonoma 14.5. Will download 14.6 and see if that helps.

Any other reasons why this might be happening?

Does this occur with EVERY mp4 that you try to play?

Or... with only one?

Have you tried "IINA" ??

file opened fine in VLC. It then opened fine in QT.
Tried a different mp4 file and no freezing.
Huh?
