Hello MacRumors,
Recently, I've acquired an iBook G4 PPC with Leopard 10.5.8 for tinkering purposes, and have set my attention on Mail 3.6. I have successfully been able to get Hotmail, Yahoo, and Gmail to work, but not AOL. More specifically, I can receive emails through AOL but can't send them out. (At the time of my testing, I also couldn't email from my Android phone as well, more on this later)
I have visited many sites that have instructed me on how to set the SMTP. I've even tried several configurations just for the sake of it. I was unsuccessful every time. When I'd use Connection Doctor to test the IMAP/SMTP on suggested configurations, I'd get a green dot and a message stating, "Connection and login to server succeeded" But I still couldn't send out emails.
One site I visited was the Image Challenge from AOL. This actually seem to correct the issue with my Android phone. However, I still can't send emails out via Mail 3.6
Any advice?
