Hi, I'm new to mac (and these forums) and I am having some trouble with my Mail App on my new Macbook Pro. Im running mac version 10.8, and in the last few weeks my mail app stopped automatically fetching new messages unless i go into the app and say "get all new mail". I have the settings set to check for mail every 5 minutes and it seems like it stopped getting new mail after i upgraded to mountain lion. Any help?

Open Mail and go to Mail's menu item 'Window' and select 'Connection Doctor'. See if it is connecting correctly to your email provider. Plus in 10.6 check your email account in System Preferences->Mail, Contacts & Calendars pane. Make sure they are setup correctly and are connecting to your email provider.
