Has anyone else noticed this since upgrading to El Cap? Drives me mad - is there a way to switch it off?

I posted this in the "changes in the fourth beta" thread.

Yeah, you can just turn it off in settings for Contacts.

Unfortunately although I have unchecked the box, I am still getting duplicate contacts appearing in Contacts. So for example, if I have a normal contact card for John Smith with an email address of plus phone numbers etc, for example, if I email him then a new, duplicated, contact will appear with the only information being that email address.

Cannot understand this as there is no real reason for this.

** Update ** Aha - I think I have found the culprit. It may in fact be the fault of the iOS9 update on my phone which may have been doing it! Will monitor and update further.
