I read that people were having MBox problems and I wonder if it's an exchange issue. My work email has happily run in Mail until I did the upgrade. Now it won't receive new mail, but actually will still send.

I've deleted and re-set up the mailbox, but I think it's gone. The icon switches from the zig-zag heart beat look to the attention logo. I've been running mail with my exchange for a year or so and this is the first problem I've had.

Any solution would be appreciated, looks like I'm using Thunderbird until the Exchange Support I read about in the launch is fixed. Thanks, in advance.

I have the same problem. I used to have problems once in a while with Mail on Snow Leopard where it wouldn't download new mail. I would quit it and re-open it, and then it was fine.

Now on Lion, it seems to be the same problem, but it happens much more often, and Mail locks up when I try to quit it, which forces me to force quit it. Then when I re-open mail, all the message I previously sent in the app re-open as outgoing messages again. Its very confusing and frustrating.

I had to change my SMTP server to "Password" authentication instead of whatever it was on to get my email to receive and send again.

Problem Solved... Kinda....

Apparently this is the solution. But if "CBS" is an indication of what company you work for, this solution is easier said than done.. I'm also in the EXACT same boat. If yours starts to work, I'm pretty sure mine will too!

Server sideissue, please ask your exchange administrator to perform the following actions.

1, Open IIS Manager on yourExchange 2007/2010 Client Access Server
2, Select "Default WebSite" then "EWS"
3, Select"Authentication"
4, Right click on "BasicAuthentication"
5, Make sure its "Enable"
Reboot Exchange Server

And you’re ready to go

Interesting,
I gave Mail a throughly good work out on our exchange server and I thought it was excellent, quicker than Outlook for mac and without all the problems it had under SL
