When composing a new message in Mail, the message body doesn't use the font size I set in Mail → Settings → Fonts & Colors → Message font. Instead, the first line of every new message opens at a smaller default size (appears to be 13pt) regardless of what is set in preferences.
Steps to Reproduce:
The correct size only works if I ARROW DOWN before typing — pressing Enter does not work, and typing directly on the first line locks that text in at the wrong size.
Would love an actual "fix" for this, if anyone has one? Thanks for any help!
Steps to Reproduce:
- Mail → Settings → Fonts & Colors
- Set Message font to a specific size
- Close Settings
- Open a new message
- The font size shown in the compose toolbar is still 13
The correct size only works if I ARROW DOWN before typing — pressing Enter does not work, and typing directly on the first line locks that text in at the wrong size.
- Confirmed this happens on new messages specifically, but ALSO replies.
- Message Format is set to Rich Text.
- Tried deleting ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail plist and after fully quitting and relaunching Mail.
- Building a signature with a pre-formatted blank first line does not work around it — text typed on the actual first line of the message body still defaults to the wrong size, even when the signature below it is correctly formatted. (I'm using a WiseStamp signature, but it's never been an issue before)
