Anyone else having flagged email issues in Catalina?

As you can see on the attached screenshot, I have 2 yellow flagged emails, 4 grey, 1 orange and 2 red. The side bar tells a completely different story. Why does purple college even show up?

Anyone know how to fix? I have sent in a report to Apple.

I'm having the same issue. It's not only what you're seeing but also flagged emails sometimes doesn't show at all in the categories. When this happens, search stops working also.

I temporarily fixed it by doing a pram reset but it came back a day later. Rebuilding Mail also doesn't fix it. I have a suspicion that it has to do with indexing but can't prove it.

For now, I haven't been able to find a permanent fix.

Yup, same with me. Not fixed in 10.15.1 b1.

I just find this interesting now, god knows how it decides on what is flagged and what flag it is under....

Put me down as another person struggling with this: The different colour flags disappear and reappear in the sidebar every few minutes.

This happened to me with my gmail account but I managed to clear it up. I deleted the account from my Mac, went to gmail online, starred "all mail" then unstarred it. Make sure to check all of the items in "all mail". Then I added the gmail account back to Mac mail and it seemed to clear it up so far. Hope this helps someone.

This happened to me with my gmail account but I managed to clear it up.....

It happens across all my accounts, the flags are spread throughout iCloud, Hotmail, gmail and Outlook accounts.

10.15.2 still not fixed, at least not for me.

This has only become worse with the latest update. It's turning out to be the most crippling bug for me, as I depend on my email flags for work! Unbelievable that they haven't fixed it yet!

Same here: flags inaccurate and faulty since Catalina, and now, since 10.15.2, this has become as buggy as I have ever seen a bug in macOS (X).
