Hey All
As of Monday 11th October 2010 Mac Messenger just stopped working on my iMac. I haven't added any new programs, messed with any setting or anything. My password is 100% correct and I am most definitely connected to the internet.
All I get it the below pop up that states

"Sign in to Microsoft Messenger failed because the service is not responding. The service is not available or you may not be connected to the internet"

Is anyone else experiencing this?
Can anyone help?
Thanks
Shippo

I've had this problem occur, but it has always gone away after a day or two.

I'm using the beta for Messenger 8 and always figured it was a problem with the beta. Hopefully it is out of beta soon, seeing as Office 2011 is about out.

OK, so I've just sorted it.

Click "Sign in with a different account or change your online status"
Click "Clear account history"

Retype your email address and password.
Bingo!

The only problem being was that it had blocked all of my contacts for some stupid reason, so I just clicked
CONTACT>PRIVACY

and unblocked them from there.

I think its working ok now apart from that.
Hope this helps some other users.

I've been using the full release of MSN 8 as it came with Office 2011. It's the best release yet, trust me.

Nice one shippouk, that just fixed mine.

Using Messenger 8.0 for Mac, but had signed in earlier using the one that comes with Windows Live Essentials 2011 for Windows 7. After that, it broke. Coincidence?
