Now for the past week or so, I've been having some problems with Mac:Messenger.

I can sign into the application fine. However, it signs me in, but displays all my contacts and myself as offline. After abut 30 seconds after being signed in, the program signs me out.

This is really frustrating. I've completely removed the application from my MacBook and re-downloaded it, however it still gives me the same problems.

This is how it appears after I sign in:

Any help? Anyone else experiencing this issue?

It seems that nobody wants to talk to you  nah just kidding

Looks like a server problem, have you tried going Online and see what happens?

Yes, I've signed in as appearing online, same thing happens.

And, I don't like Adium.

If it was a server problem, then wouldn't everybody who uses M:M have the same problems? Can somebody else here try M:M for me please?

Thanks. :apple:

Same exact thing is happening to me!

Like the OP, I can sign in but it signs me out pretty quickly... and my list looks just like that, with not one single person online when they really are.

Does anyone know a solution to this? MSN Messenger installed when I put Microsoft Office on here. If I uninstall MSN Messenger, will that negatively affect the other programs like Microsoft Word and Powerpoint, etc.? Can I do that?

you'll be fine, it's just Microsoft trying to shove everything they can offer you down you're throat all at once.

Honestly man, I was like you... I hated Adium too but after giving it a try I was able to replicate Mac:Messenger.

When you first install it, it sucks... but you gotta put the addons in (which don't slow down the program at all), such as:

Real MSN emoticons (Animated as well)
MSN Plus extention (gives ability to send/save custom emoticons)
MSN-like theme
MSN Sounds

Not only that... there's offline messaging and the program is way more stable than that bloated MS crap.

Being very OCD, I think I've managed to do the best replication of Adium.

Hope this helped.

hello, not sure i should start a whole new thread about this or not so i'll just post it here.

lately my msn has been constantly showing 'signing in' and it will never sign in or stop trying to. this means my msn messenger application is constantly open and it ignores my attempts on shutting it down or even, force quitting it. i've even tried deleting it but it wouldn't let me because msn is supposedly running.

this means i haven't been able to turn my mac off in the past two weeks, when it started happening. does anyone know what i could do? i'm getting on a plane in a week and i can't even turn my mac off! even when i let the battery run out, my computer will go on standby because msn is on
