Something is very wrong with apple's refurb mini pricing. Compare the below prices (as of today on the refurb store) with $599 for a brand new 1.83 Ghz core 2 duo.
And while we're on the subject of $599 for a new 1.83 Ghz C2D mini (with an 80GB HD and 1GB RAM)... that seems like a much better deal than a $499 1.66 core duo (with 60GB/512MB).
That's not really true. Look at the refurb (SR) macbook pro. Was $2500, now $1650. Why? Because the new (penryn) base model is $2000.
Or the 4-core 3.0 ghz mac pro (previous generation). Was $3849 (as configured), and is now $2299. You really think they would have cut the price by 41% if they weren't thinking about the fact that you can get a new 8-core for $2800?
The refurb store definitely takes the price of current models in to account. That's why there isn't the same flat % reduction off of the original MSRP on all refurbs.

Agreed. You can tell that when the discount is not listed as a %. But, when they show a percentage off, it's off the price the machine was new. The 1.66 mini prices are discounts off of MSRP when they were new.
