my mac mini is stuck in a cycle of restarting.

i start it, hear the apple chime, see the apple on the display, and then it immediately restarts, and this will happen over and over infinitely...

same thing happens if i boot in safe mode

any ideas on what this could be or how to fix it. obviously its old and i dont want to put alot of money into it, but maybe its something i can fix ?

any info appreciated

THANKS

indeed, I boot into Target Disk mode with the help of a male Firewire to male Firewire cord and another Mac. From there you can see if your HD is dead(but I'd expect to see something else at start up if that was the case) but at least you can get your files off the Mini if you have not backed up with in a timeframe you need files from.
