Mac Mini 10.10.1 late 2012 display flickers

Now that I am all ready with my fresh OSX 10.10 installed, I have noticed that the screen starts flickering and then freezes. Sometimes I can go back an work on my computer after the flickering stops, but most of the time the whole computer crashes and restarts itself.
I googled and apparently it was a fw problem with the display. I downloaded the fw, but it is not available for my version. Do you think that it that it's going to be hardware related? I hope Apple releases another fw update if they already haven't.

Anyone had any experience with the video flickering on a late 2012 Mac mini?

The 2012 Mini had a GPU issue with blinking screen or snow screen. I returned mine the first week I had it, and bought a 2011 with a Radeon dGPU.

Check this forum out, I don't think it was ever resolved (i.e. hardware issue with the GPU)....

True, but this issue was fixed by software within one or two months.
I've never seen it happen since then with Mavericks.

It was probably a timing issue that possibly couldn't be fix to 100% by software or the issue was un-fixed by Yosemite.

I even tried downgrading to mavericks, but the issue is still there. I am just over the year mark for the warranty to cover it.
