Hello,
I have both a mac mini 2010 "Core 2 Duo" 2.4 and a mac mini 2011 "Core i5" 2.5. I only have enough parts to use one of them.

I want to use as a media center, want energy efficient and converting files from mkv to mp4.

Which one should I choose and why?

Thank you,

Steve

There isn't any reason not to use the 2011.

Also, if you're converting the MKV files for playback on the mini, VLC will play them without needing a conversion.

Go with the 2011.

It has Thunderbolt, a more powerful graphics chip and it's about twice as fast as the 2010, based on GB3 score.
