So the 2010 mini's RAM won't work in the 2011 mini, I assume.

I was thinking of getting the $799 one and swapping the RAM with my 2010 mini which now has 8GB if the RAM was the same type.

The RAM in the 2010 mini is DDR3 PC3-8500, DDR3 (non-ECC). The 2011 mini is DDR3 PC3-10600, DDR3 (non-ECC).

Dont quote me on this but I think you can put faster memory into an older machine and it drops the timings accordingly, but dont think it works the other way round.
