I'm trying to use a 2012 Mini both as a headless music server hooked up to the Hi-Fi amplifier and as a media player connected to the TV.
Right now I'm running a Thunderbolt-to-HDMI cable to the TV and a HDMI-to-HDMI cable to the amplifier. Picture and audio work fine on the TB connection but the problem is the amplifier does not seem to receive any signal at all as long as both cables are plugged in. Is it possible that you can't use those two ports concurrently? They don't seem to be listed separately in the MIDI Setup app either. There'S only mention of a single HDMI connection in there.
Is the only workable solution to get a Toslink/Optical audio cable for the connection to the amp?
