Hi, i have 2 monitors plugged into my mac mini.

1 is plugged in mini dp to vga - works fine.
1 is plugged in hdmi to vga - doesn't work.
Also tried hmdi to dvi (belkin wire) - didn't work.

Am i missing something? Is it my monitor?

I didn't think that HDMI to VGA worked unless the GPU specifically supported it (which I didn't think the 2014 Intel's did, could be wrong....)

As for HDMI to DVI should have worked. Are you sure the cable works?

What are you trying to drive with the HDMI to DVI? Another option would be to get another Mini DP to VGA or Mini DP to DVi for your second Thunderbolt/MDP port....

    Hi Paul,

The cable works. I tried it from my desktop PC to my tv and it gave me a picture. trying to get a second monitor. At the moment just one monitor from a mini dp to vga is working. Would i be able to use x2 mini dp ports to vga for both monitors? read somewhere you cant?

I don't see why you couldn't use two MDP to VGA cables.... You would have to point me to something that states you can't. I'm still not sure why you aren't getting a single from the HDMI to DVI. Are you sure your monitor is set to DVI input when you use that cable? I use HDMI to DVI on my 2012's with no issues (yes I realize we are talking about 2014's, but HDMI and DVI are pin compatible so there is no conversion to the video).
