Hi all,
I have a 2014 Mac Mini that has the fusion drive setup from Apple. It has a 128GB Flash Storage and a 1TB regular hard drive.
Can I change the 128GB Flash storage to any NVME drive? Like a Samsung or HP And remove the 1TB regular hard drive all together?
Im not concerned with the fusion Drive setup.

Thanks!

SSD is fairly easy to replace with a larger model. Removing the hard drive is more difficult. I would just put the larger SSD in and keep the hard drive.

I separated the SSD from the 1tb hard drive on my 2014 Fusion Mini and installed the system on the SSD. I use it as an iTunes server with all my media on an external 4tb USB SSD. Works great and I didn't need to open up the Mini at all.

This is all great info, thank you.

but what I need to know is can I use a regular NVME drive in the fusion drive slot?

Ok, in other words, the existing NVME adapter that is installed from Apple will not work?

That is my understanding, as you have also been told in the other thread you posted to.
