Mac Mini 2018 Ethernet problem

Today my Ethernet speed dropped from 800Mbps to 60 Mbps. A restart didn't work so I did a SMC and a PRAM reset and speed was up to normal again. So the problem is solved but i'm just wondering why this could happen so suddenly.
