I see a lot of people are manually updating the RAM in their Minis. However, I haven't really come across on any info on what RAM to use. Yes, I know I'm looking for DDR4-2666 RAM. However, RAM like this is shown to be incompatible according to Crucial's website even though its specs are similar to that of Crucial's officially supported RAM (which cannot be found in Amazon.de where I shop). How picky are these Macs when it comes to RAM? I have noticed a few posts where the individuals were using 2666Mt/s RAM but Mac Mini registered them as 2400Mt/s.

The thing is that not all of us live in the US and/or want to buy straight from the brand store (because of the higher prices compared to Amazon and others). I'd therefore appreciate it if those of you who bought the RAM for Mac Mini shed some light on which RAM to go for (links or model names).

1) reports of 2400 may be i3, which seems to have a 2400 bus

2) you will have years of small issues which are probably caused by software. The last thing you need is uncertainty that it might be hardware.

3) crucial was caught unprepared for this. But report to be working on it. If you need crucial 2x32, wait for crucial to make a certified 2x32 kit.

Look at OWC, macsales.com. https://eshop.macsales.com/shop/memory/owc/apple-mac-mini/2018

I've seen video evidence that these Corsair modules also work properly at 2.666GHz:

No, unfortunately, one of the "how to change your RAM" guides that was posted in these forums listed the wrong RAM as well - both the OP and someone who followed his original purchase advice came up at 2.4GHz. He's since updated the guide.
