Mac-mini 2020 shows 2018?

Why is my 2020 mac-mini showing 2018? I'm confused 🤔

All specs matches the 2020 model but you can see it shows "Mac mini (2018)"

That’s because the only change Apple made to the 2020 was increasing the starting point SSD from 128GB to 256GB. They did not change any hardware. So reality it is the same as the 2018. This is posted in many threads in this forum if you want to search it.

one poster said he called and complained them being miss leading and received a discount from his order for it listed as New.

Call apple and complain 'new' doesn't mean '2018 model with new SDD'. I did and got £80 back. My point was if I knew it wasn't a new device i'd have waited for a refurb model to appear in the channel.

You’re right though, it should say 2020. Yes it’s unchanged since 2018, but they are advertising it as the 2020 model and so the about Mac section should reflect that.

Ya if they are calling it 2020 then they should change system info to 2020 also.
