Hello there!

I know that my question was posted here probably hundred times but I need my own advice :)

In the next few days I will buy Mac Mini 2019 and I’m currently looking for a external monitor for it.
First I was thinking that buying 27-inch 4K monitor is the best idea but then I realised that I will need to use him in 1080p Hi-DPI mode because native 4K resolution will make everything too small. I also want to avoid any scaled resolutions that may affect performance.

So now I’m thinking about buying 27-inch 1440p monitor and use it in native (non Retina aka Hi-DPI) resolution.
Is this a good idea or 4K scaled to 1080p will be better? I’m worried about real estate space on 1080p... :(

I'm older with older eyes.

I wouldn't want 1440p on a 27" display -- too small (at least for me).
(this is what the current 27" 5k iMac looks like in "default" viewing mode)

For me, I'd want a 32" 1440p display.
Now text will be displayed (in "normal" font sizes) that I can easily read.
But the dot pitch (0.2775mm) will remain modestly-sized enough for viewing photos and movies.

I can read 1440p on 27 just fine :)
For me it’s currently 27 1440p (native) vs 27 4K (retina, „like 1080p”).
