Hey, looking at this in my local CEX - i cant see this as ever being a configuration. (They won't let me check the serial number in case i take it and report it stolen!? )

You could still replace the harddrive on the 2014 Mac mini, so most likely it's been done afterwards.

Looks like an aftermarket upgrade, which is well worthwhile. I've done the same myself on a MacMini6,1. The SSD upgrade and additional RAM transformed it! Now it's a marvellous little machine.
