I have a Intel Mac mini, and a iMac G4. The iMac G4 has no operating system and I would like to install an OS from the mini via Target Disk Mode. I put the iMac G4 into Target Disk Mode, and I connected the two together via a firewire cable. The iMac G4's HD doesn't mount, and isn't seen in Disk Utility, or DiskWarrior. What is wrong? I just bought this firewire cable so it shouldn't be a problem with the cable.

Thanks. :)

I have read online that we can install an OS that way, I have the Tiger DVD's and the iMac G4 doesn't have a DVD drive.

Should be done other way round: Intel Mac into target mode, boot G4 from DVD drive of the former.
