Hi all!
I've searched around and didnt see anything exactly like what I'm encountering, but I'm sure its simply related to Yosemite bugs. Regardless, I figured I'd post it in here for any advice.
I have a Mac Mini we use as a media server. Apple TV 3 is in our Living room, all connected via Wifi. After I upgraded the Mac Mini to Yosemite, video every once in awhile crashes while being streamed via Home Sharing from the Mac Mini to the Apple TV. The only way to correct the issue is to reboot the Mac Mini which leads me to believe its a Yosemite issue and not an Apple TV issue.
Any advice on this topic?
Another question about my setup that might be related as well: I have the Mac Mini on the time schedule so its on between 7AM and 11PM, then it goes to sleep during the night. Is it possible to have it asleep ALL the time? but it wakes when I turn on the Apple TV or something? Or do I always need to have it ON initially for the Apple TV to find it via Home Sharing? I've heard some people get it to work with Wake on Network Access enabled? I do not recall this working for me.
