When using iTunes as Home sharing for streaming content on Apple TV's would it be better to keep movies on external drive (that way you can unplug and take on the go) ? or keep the content on internal drive ?:apple:

I would say external. That way if want to move then can do, just need to import to the iTunes Server that have with.

There is no performance hit from having the disk external.

I stream from an FW800 connected DroboPro, so hardly the fastest disk system out there.
