Mac Mini Audio Out

Does anyone know how to enable the optical audio out while the HDMI is also being used?

Try looking at the Sound System Preference.

Both the Sound System Preference and the MIDI panel Utility are either / or but not both. I need to use both for my HTPC application. Any ideas? Has anyone done this?
