mac mini , constant fans . wont boot

my 1.66 core duo mac mini developed a problem last night . when the unit is plugged in to the power the fan goes mad - with out even pressing the power button . it also wont boot . any body got any ideas ?

Have you replaced anything inside that preceded this? If not, then you probably have a logic board failure and the fan is in default mode (hi speed). If so, time for another Mac. 🙁
