Mac Mini + FF 800 + Cubase : dropouts at 55% CPU usage

I'm thinking of switching my DAW from PC to MAC. So, now allready testing on my Mac Mini to find out if all works fine.

But, when using the Mac Mini + RME Fireface 800 + Cubase I get dropouts at 55% CPU usage. Latency at 1024 samples.

I did some more testing:

Mac Mini + build in audio + Cubase + 1024 samples: dropouts at 90% cpu usage - fine!
Mac Mini + FF 800 + Logic + 1024 samples: dropouts at 90% cpu usage - also fine!

It should be possible to use all of the CPU resources with Cubase + RME FF 800 under OSX, right?

What am I missing here?
What's the problem and more important, what's the solution?
