I have (2) PM's that I use for most of my video work. I also have a G4 Mini and a PB G4 1.5. Sometimes when I go away for a long weekend, I will take with the Mini, and/or the PB. I also take a Lacie 1TB for work space. I can do video editing and photo work just fine. Motion is not recommended and I do not do any major rendering. I tried a 18 GB compressor job (MPEG-2 6.2 Mbps 2-pass 4/3) on the Mini. It took overnight. So, it can be done, but it is far from optimum.

Like some others have posted, I would be very suspicious of the software. Its' value is 3 times what you are paying for the machine. That kind of discount does not legally exist in this universe.

OK, 2 more questions:

Is it easy to upgrade RAM on a mini yourself or should we just order it maxed out?

Would a new mini 'hook' up with my TiBook for the display??

Not for a display, but it would work as an external hard drive.
