Hi, I have a mac mini that freezes on startup and cannot boot. I got a 1BG RAM chip about a year ago and it has been working with no problems. Yesterday I tried to install OS X 10.4 and as at it's almost finished up installation the computer froze. I unplugged the computer and then tried to restart it so many times since but it just keeps freezing and does not boot up. All I see is the apple icon and a twirling circle. I had 10.3.9 before I tried to install OS X 10.4. I can't find the original disk for it and now I don't know what to do. Another problem I've been having is - the super drive is not reading any disks.

    Please help!!!!!
    Thanks

Try to run the hardware diagnostics with the disc you do have by holding "d" when you power on the machine (with the disc in the drive).

If the drive just isn't reading discs at all you can try this with an external USB CD/DVD-ROM.

Unfortunately before you really go any further you need to be sure whether the Superdrive is actually working or not.

    Edit:
Not a whole lot you can do on a Mac Mini with a dead Superdrive unless you have access to an external CD-ROM...
