Hey whats up everyone, at first I was looking to buy an ATV for my needs of watching all my downloaded shows. Then I thought about using my mac mini that I barely use instead. However the specs arent that powerful (1.42 PPC G4, 1GB Memory). Ive been searching around for using the Mini as a media center, but most of the threads I found are about how to create the center, and mostly everyone is using Intel Minis that Ive found. So I have a couple of unanswered questions:

How will it be able to handle running 720p?
What do you think the max it is capable of doing?
Or do you guys think I should try and sell this one and just upgrade to an Intel Mini?

Any other advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance! 😀

It will probably be able to do low bit rate standard def, but for high def you need a dual core (i.e., intel-based mini). A G4 would also have trouble with most h.264 encoded files.
