Mac Mini G4 very very slow to start and sometimes won't at all

Hi, can anyone help me figure why my mac mini wont start and if it does it takes a long time. Thinking about upgrading ram and hard drive

Could be a number of things, but most likely reason would be that your HD is about to fail.
Next time you manage to boot into OSX run a S.M.A.R.T. check on the drive to see if all is well.
