Mac mini had to restart twice

black screen after i turn on , had to press long and restart the mini then the apple logo appeared.
notice this problem after upgrade to OS sierra.

Does the issue persist after a PRAM reset?

Okey dokey. So, just to confirm: you turn on the Mac Mini and it's just a black screen? Or is it after it boots into OS X it goes to a black screen? Could you run through exactly what happens as it happens?

Try SMC reset:

1. Shut down the Mac.
2. Unplug the power cord.
3. Wait 15 seconds.
4. Plug the power cord back in.
5. Wait 5 seconds, then press the power button to turn on the Mac.

If the problem still happens, does it do anything different if you hold 'Alt' on startup? Or still has a black screen?

After updating, my 2011 Mini went halfway through the boot screen's progress bar and went black. I let sit for 5 minutes before I shut it down and restarted. On the second boot it was fine, same as the third boot. I'm going to hold off updating my 2014 Mac Mini for now.
