Mac Mini hosting Linux VM

I want to install a few instances of Linux on vmware Fusion on my Mac Mini.

How can I get the vm's to shutdown when Mac detects a loss of power from the UPS? Right now my Mac Mini begins to shutdown but leaves my linux OS's from shutting down properly.

The answer depends on your VM Software, but most will politely shut down their running VM's when the Host System OS starts it's shutdown process

Seems like this may be a fairly complex situation. There's a thread at the link below talking about it that may be useful. It looks like you may have to write a script that will handle this outside of vmware fusion.
