Hello,

So i completed my SSD installation without a hitch and everything boots perfectly, but I want to check and see to make sure my fan is actually installed? How can I tell besides putting my ears really close to the mac mini and kind of hearing the whirr? I don't see a slot in system report where I can check if it's connected.

any clues? I'm pretty sure it is, but I'd feel better if I can check somewhere on the software side that it's working and my mac mini won't melt from heat.

If you have access to a fan control program (smcFanControl) you could set the fans to rev up to the max ... you should easily hear that! 😱

That will be absolute proof your fans are working!

Thanks! The two programs are perfect! Default of 1800rpm is normal right? I also installed istat menu, and then deleted it, but the icons are still at the top? How is that possible, I'm relatively new to macs by the way.
