I don't think it will be much lower than now. MM M2 is not such big an upgrade after all, slightly faster yes, but same amount of memory, storage, same ports.I'm looking for M1 deals as well. Will be interesting what the used market prices will be once the M2 are readily available. I was watching a local CL listing prior to the M2 release. M1 , 512gb ssd , 16gb memory for $750. Decent price prior, but not anymore.
I'm only using my M1 Mini for streaming videos in my living room. My M1 Air is also 256GB and it's enough for my personal needs. If you're using one computer to do multiple things: personal, coding, etc., then I would either use an external drive for data or get 512GB. Before you buy anything, have a look at how much storage space you're actually using now because I've purchased a 1TB MBP in the past and I have yet to even reach 512GB. Not only that but it's an Intel Mac so it'll be useless soon - money wasted! Don't get pressured into buying something that you will not need because you want to future proof, is what I'm trying to say.Dang, I’m thinking of replacing my 2013 iMac with a Mac mini, on a small budget, so trying to decide between M1 base Costco or Apple refurb or spend more for M2 base model.
IMO, it's much more cost effective to buy 256 model and add a 1TB M2 SSD (maybe used) in a 3.1 gen 2 enclosure, it would cost you under 100USD.…or I could get the 512 SSD M1 refurb for $639 (256 seems too small)
yeah, I think I'm going to get the new base model, it's been too long since I've had a newly released Mac, with the setup I have now I'm not even getting security updates for safari. AI has a discount code with Adorama, but, they say PayPal is a payment option, until you get to checkout and it isn't there?IMO, it's much more cost effective to buy 256 model and add a 1TB M2 SSD (maybe used) in a 3.1 gen 2 enclosure, it would cost you under 100USD.

Costco has the M2 at $580 and to add 3yr applecare+ is $80 (instead of $99), …I’m not sure how that works with Costco’s 2nd year warranty if it’s a total of 4 yrs or whatCostco has the 8/256 for $499 and the 8/512 for $619 (and remember Costco adds a second year of warranty).
Was hoping for a bit more discount on the 8/256 as it is only $80 cheaper than the 8/256 M2 and probably/may within a few months the M2 will go on sale for about the same.
If you have a Citi Card, 1/22/23 is the last day they also double the warranty. So you get 4 years of warranty with that, so less of a need to get AppleCare. Shame they are discontinuing that benefit.Costco has the M2 at $580 and to add 3yr applecare+ is $80 (instead of $99), …I’m not sure how that works with Costco’s 2nd year warranty if it’s a total of 4 yrs or what
If the M2 base only has 1 NAND chip you should get the M1 base instead. Wait for reviews to come out - the professional reviewers/influencers will post videos soon.yeah, I think I'm going to get the new base model, it's been too long since I've had a newly released Mac, with the setup I have now I'm not even getting security updates for safari. I wouldn't, if buying new. I'd get the M2 edu. The M2 has better dual monitor support, and it will get 2 more years of macOS support.I’d definitely go for an m1 mini over the new ones
100% this. The M1 Mini is the Core Solo of 2020. It'll be the first Apple Silicon to lose updatesI wouldn't, if buying new. I'd get the M2 edu. The M2 has better dual monitor support, and it will get 2 more years of macOS support.
