Hello,

may Mac Mini M4 Pro likely arriving next week. đź‘Ť

From a Dell U2720Q (60Hz) perspective, I have the DisplayPort 1.4 port available to plugin the Mini. USB-C (with PD) might be in use by a laptop resp. the HDMI port is attached to an ATV 4K. Anything I should be aware of when purchasing a cable, which will allow me to use USB-C/TB plugged into the Mini on the rear, connected with the Dell on the DP 1.4 por?

Reason why I'm asking: Cables on Amazon do mention TB3/TB4 or DP Alt Mode or similar, thus not sure if this matters for a TB5 port on the rear of a Mini M4 Pro.

Thanks a lot!

Any USB-C cable that mentions 4K/60 in its supported features will do.
It could be a TB3/4 cable, as by definition they all support video as well.

If you have a laptop connected to the Dell's USB-C port and also want to connect the Mac mini, then a USB-C to DP 1.4 4K/60 cable will work, in exactly the same way as the USB-C to USB-C connection - they both use the same DP 1.4 protocol.

Awesome, thanks @PaulD-UK! Good to know that nothing special needs to be considered here. Was confused about the TB3/TB4/DP Alt Mode thingy. Thanks again.
