MP 7,1 Mac Mini/Mac Pro Interface

Can you think of any creative purposes for interfacing a Mac Pro 7.1 with a Mac Mini?
Is it even possible?

But, unless one is running huge projects and has one of the lesser 7,1s, VEP is unlikely to be necessary.

I have 7,1 16 core and two 5,1 MP. AND I have VEP. I'm trying to justify keeping them. I have not yet installed VEP on 7,1 or used it. If I need the strings. I'm trying to come up with reasons to keep two MPs.
